Staveley Miners Welfare caused the biggest upset in the League Cup with a 3-0 victory at Eccleshill United.

Goals from Jamie Smith, Judd Colley and Ben Kistell saw the Division One side progress into the Quarter-Finals at the expense of their Premier Division hosts.

Garforth Town and Hallam managed to avoid a similar fate to Eccleshill as they beat Lincoln Moorlands and Hall Road Rangers, respectively.

Garforth went through with a 3-0 home win over Lincoln Moorlands, Ian Twitchen grabbed two whilst Dan Sheriffe also found his way onto the scoresheet.

Hallam's game, however, was a lot closer with four of its five goals coming in the opening quarter of the game.

Hall Road had gone ahead through Rhys Pindar on thirteen minutes, but the hosts were ahead barely six minutes later through Scott Ellis and Scott Bates.

Rangers then levelled matters through Mike Gibson soon after and the match remained on a knife-edge until the final five minutes when Bates grabbed his second to claim a 3-2 victory for the Premier Division outfit.

In the only all-top flight tie played in midweek, Pickering Town also made it into the last eight with a 1-0 victory at home to local rivals, Selby Town.

In league action, two games survived the midweek bad weather.

Thackley picked up a vital three points at home to Armthorpe Welfare, Dean Walters converting a 55th-minute penalty to claim a 1-0 victory.

They remain in eighteenth but close the gap between themselves and Welfare, who are one place above them, to six points.

Meanwhile, Borrowash Victoria?s renaissance under new boss Mark Wilson continued with a 2-0 home victory over Gedling Town.

That victory moves them up to fourteenth in Division One whilst Gedling remain in seventh.

And, in the Derbyshire Senior Cup, a Craig Housley brace and an Ian Brown goal saw Glapwell claim a semi-final spot with a 3-1 win over Lincolnshire Senior League leaders Stapenhill at Hall Corner.
