Baris NCEL Match Review #74
12th May, 2013
The final game of the Baris Northern Counties East Football League season took place on Saturday, confirming that Hall Road Rangers end the Premier Division campaign at the bottom of the table.
Their home clash with Worksop Parramore was completed at the fifth time of asking at Parkgate's Roundwood Sports Complex ground and was an eight-goal thriller as the two sides shared the spoils.
Parramore were two up in the first quarter-of-an-hour with strikes from Matty Thorpe and Lee Holmes but parity was restored, firstly through Jordan Cox on 39 minutes and then from Darren Rookes five minutes later.
But, Holmes got his second and the away side's third in first-half stoppage time to give them a lead at the interval.
Rookes struck again to bring Rangers back level early in the second period before Luke Fedorenko had seemingly given Parramore the points with their fourth on 86 minutes.
However, Rangers hit back once again in stoppage time, Rookes completing his hat-trick as it finished 4-4.
Parramore end the campaign in seventh spot - a position they would have kept no matter what the result of the game - whilst Hall Road finish two points behind next-to-bottom Lincoln Moorlands Railway and six points away from Armthorpe Welfare who are in twentieth spot.
Promotion and relegation places in both divisions will now be confirmed over the next few days once issues elsewhere that affect the situation are resolved.
A proposed constitution for the League for the 2013/14 season will be announced and then voted on by member clubs at next month's AGM.
