Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2013/14 #31

24th November, 2013

Tadcaster Albion unbeaten run was extended to 21 games on Saturday and the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders are now five points clear at the top of the table after a dramatic home victory over Parkgate.

The Brewers were 3-2 down going into stoppage time before Josh Barrett and Mitchell Hamilton pounced to snatch them a 4-3 win in unbelievable circumstances.

Second placed Thackley lost ground as they were beaten 4-3 at Heanor Town, Nathan Benger's second of the afternoon on 86 minutes proving to be the winner for the home side.

Things were more straightforward for Barton Town Old Boys as Louis Kirk's opener and two second-half goals from Ryan Cooper earned them a 3-0 victory at Winterton Rangers to move them up into third spot.

They are just ahead of Albion Sports who were 8-1 home winners over Armthorpe Welfare, Daniel Facey with a hat-trick whilst Delroy Facey popped up with two of his own late on.

Brighouse Town drop to fifth after they let a two-goal lead slip at home to Staveley Miners Welfare, Ryan Hall and Matthew Waller's strikes cancelled out in the last ten minutes by Ryan Damms and Reece Littlejohn.

Liam Wilkin and Reece Thompson struck to secure a 2-0 win at Athersley Recreation for Retford United to keep them ahead of Bridlington Town who beat hosts Maltby Main, 3-1, Craig Hogg getting a brace for the Seasiders.

The bottom two sides both tasted defeat on their own patch with Nostell Miners Welfare going down to Ben Watkiss' 79th minute strike in a 1-0 defeat to Long Eaton United whilst Gibril Bojang and Billy Grogan scored for Liversedge in their 2-0 win at struggling Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Garforth Town must have thought they had wrestled all three points from Glasshoughton Welfare when Curtly Martin-Wyatt made it 3-2 for the visitors on 88 minutes but Mitch Boland's injury-time own goal made sure the spoils were shared.

And, there was also a draw for Pickering Town and Basford United who shared four goals in their clash at Mill Lane.

Cleethorpes Town returned to the top of Division One with a 7-1 home victory over next-to-bottom Appleby Frodingham, Nathan Emson with two of the goals whilst Johnathan Oglesby, Jack Richardson, Marc Cooper, Lee McFarland and Richard Peck also got on the scoresheet.

They replace Shaw Lane Aquaforce, who drew 0-0 at Yorkshire Amateur, at the summit, leading by two points.

Danny Boulton and Jake Quickenden got Bottesford Town's goals to keep them in third spot with a 2-0 win at home to Grimsby Borough.

Fourth placed Worsbrough Bridge Athletic won 4-0 at Louth Town who stay propping up the rest following second half goals from Danny Cawley, Chris White, Adam Podmore and Dean Shirt.

Jackson Patillo's 23rd minute strike was the only goal of the game in Eccleshill United's win at Hall Road Rangers and the Eagles stay fifth.

Selby Town climbed into the top six by beating hosts Rossington Main, 2-0, Josh O'Neil's sixteenth minute strike added to late on by Luke Hall.

On an afternoon where all the bottom six sides were beaten, Hallam went down 2-1 at home to Clipstone, a Colin Heath hat-trick helped condemn Dinnington Town to a 4-0 defeat at Knaresborough Town and Hemsworth Miners Welfare lost 5-2 to visitors Teversal, Oliver Wood and Triston Burrell with a brace each for the Nottinghamshire side.

Shirebrook Town were 2-1 home victors over AFC Emley, Jamie Brown with the winner fifteen minutes from time, and Dronfield Town drew 1-1 at Pontefract Collieries.
