28th November, 2013
The chasing pack towards the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division were unable to close in on the leading two sides - Tadcaster Albion and Thackley - in midweek.
Brighouse Town and Barton Town Old Boys met each other at the Dual Seal Stadium and drew 1-1, Ryan Cooper scoring first for Barton on 14 minutes with his goal cancelled out just before half-time by Danny Nadiole.
And, Albion Sports were beaten 1-0 at Athersley Recreation, Jason Bentley with the vital strike just two minute from the end of the game.
Bridlington Town remain in seventh spot after a 3-0 home victory over Garforth Town, James Bennett's double added to by Jamie Reeson's strike securing the win to keep them ahead of Basford United who won 6-0 at basement side Nostell Miners Welfare, Tyeisse Nightingale, Ryan Whitehurst and Jamie Walker with two goals each.
Shaun Rickford scored five goals in Long Eaton United's 7-0 win at home to Glasshoughton Welfare whilst there was a hat-trick for Reece Littlejohn as Staveley Miners Welfare beat visitors Liversedge, 8-2.
Four more sides booked their places in the Third Round of the League Cup with Heanor Town having the easiest task as four goals from Nathan Benger helped them to an 8-0 victory at Parkgate.
Craig Tomkinson and Matthew Hall netted for Thackley as they beat hosts Armthorpe Welfare, 2-0, whilst Ged Dalton's goal in the second-period of extra-time saw Pickering Town through, 1-0 at home to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Selby Town also progressed but they needed a penalty shoot-out to dispose of Maltby Main as the game finished at 2-2 after extra time, the Robins winning 4-2 on spot kicks.
And, Hall Road Rangers bowed out of the East Riding Senior Cup with their heads held high following a 2-0 home defeat to Skrill Conference North high-flyers North Ferriby United.
