Barton Town Old Boys closed the gap on Toolstation NCEL Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion to three points with a 2-0 home victory over Maltby Main on Saturday.
Gareth Barlow put the Swans ahead on twenty minutes before Ryan Cooper made sure of the win early in the second period whilst Tadcaster drew 2-2 at fourth-placed Thackley.
Chris Davey's sixth-minute opener for the home side was cancelled out by a Damian Hopkins own goal midway through the first half and Carl Stewart put the Brewers ahead after the break.
But, James Firth struck for Thackley with six minutes remaining to ensure the spoils were shared.
Retford United stay third but have lost ground on the top two after their single-goal defeat at home to Long Eaton United, Matt Savage's strike separating the sides towards the end of the game.
Brighouse Town are up into fifth after they beat hosts Pickering Town, 3-1, with goals from Joe Jagger, Ernest Boafo and Tom Matthews before Jimmy Beadle claimed a late consolation for the Pikes.
They go above Albion Sports who went down 3-1 at Parkgate, Simon Mirfin and Adam Houghton with the goals that sealed the home side's victory after the teams were deadlocked 1-1 at half-time.
The division's bottom two sides both tasted defeat on their travels with Nostell Miners Welfare still propping up the rest following a 6-1 loss at Glasshoughton Welfare and Lincoln Moorlands Railway went down 4-1 at Armthorpe Welfare.
There were 4-0 away victories for Athersley Recreation at Staveley Miners Welfare and for Garforth Town at Liversedge whilst Basford United defeated hosts Heanor Town, 3-0, and Bridlington Town went down 2-0 at home to Worksop Parramore.
A Louis Blackwell hat-trick condemned Division One leaders Shaw Lane Aquaforce to a 3-1 defeat at Selby Town, Mark Whitehouse with the consolation for the visitors.
Aquaforce are still top of the table but only now by goal difference ahead of Cleethorpes Town who, courtesy of goals from Johnathan Oglesby, Luke Mascall and Nathan Emson, won 3-1 at Dronfield Town.
There were also victories for Bottesford Town, Pontefract Collieries and Eccleshill United in the top six.
Three goals from Craig Bridge and a double from Danny Boulton kept Bottesford third with a 7-1 win at struggling Dinnington Town.
Pontefract are up into fourth as they beat bottom side Louth Town, 7-2, on their own patch with Andrew Catton's hat-trick and Kingsley Wetherald's brace making it a comfortable afternoon for the Colls.
And, Eccleshill were 4-2 winners at Clipstone to move into fifth ahead of Worsbrough Bridge Athletic who drew 1-1 at home to seventh-placed Shirebrook Town.
Four goals in the opening 22 minutes helped Teversal to a straightforward victory, beating visitors Yorkshire Amateur, 5-0, whilst Knaresborough Town enjoyed a 4-0 home win over Hall Road Rangers and hosts AFC Emley beat Hemsworth Miners Welfare by a single goal.
Hallam were 2-0 victors at Grimsby Borough and it was the same scoreline for Rossington Main at Appleby Frodingham.
