The Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title race swung in Tadcaster Albion's favour on Saturday as the leaders were the only side in the top three to win.

It was an emphatic 5-0 home victory for the Brewers over Pickering Town watched by a crowd of 522 at 2inspire Park, Matthew Sparkes' first half brace giving them the lead at the break before Carl Stewart, Callum Ward and Terry Taylor made sure of the win in the second period.

They are now seven points clear of second-placed Barton Town Old Boys who went down 3-2 at Armthorpe Welfare.

Kieran Benson put the hosts ahead on 50 minutes before Ashley Lattimore's penalty brought Barton back level on the hour but Benson nabbed a second and Darren Mansaram netted to give the advantage back to the hosts whilst Tim Taylor scored a late second for the visitors.

And, third-placed Brighouse Town needed an injury-time Adam Wilson equaliser to take a point in a 2-2 draw at home to Long Eaton United and they are now eleven points away from the summit with five games in hand.

Basford United closed the gap with the top three to two points as Blair Anderson and Theo Smith netted in their 2-0 home victory over Long Eaton United and Worksop Parramore are up into fifth after their 4-1 win over visitors Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

The game was level at 1-1 going into the final half-hour but a Sam Smith penalty followed by strikes from Oliver Fearon and Nathan Forbes-Swindells ensured the three points for the hosts.

Moorlands, meanwhile, stay stranded at the bottom twelve points away from safety with seven games left to play whilst the side with them in the relegation zone, Winterton Rangers, picked up a point in their survival bid with a 1-1 home draw with Retford United.

Liam Wilkin had put the Badgers ahead from the penalty spot on 37 minutes but Leigh Hutchinson struck early in the second period for Rangers to restore parity and they are two points behind Nostell Miners Welfare, who did not have a game, with five matches remaining.

Comeback of the day came courtesy of Bridlington Town who were 3-0 down at Albion Sports with twenty minutes left but Joel Ramm, Jarrod Smalley brought them back into contention before Rikki Paylor snatched the equaliser in stoppage time.

Kieran Debrouwer netted his fiftieth goal of the season but his Heanor Town side were beaten 2-1 at home by Staveley Miners Welfare whilst Parkgate fell to a 1-0 defeat to visitors Liversedge, a CJ Lyle brace helped Garforth Town to a 3-0 home victory over Maltby Main and Thackley took all three points against Glasshoughton Welfare at Dennyfield with the only goal of the game coming in injury-time from James Firth.

Bottesford Town have been overtaken at the top of the Division One table by Cleethorpes Town after they were beaten at home by third-placed Shaw Lane Aquaforce as the title race took another dramatic twist.

Danny Frost and Shane Kelsey struck in a minute for Aquaforce and, although Terry Barwick's penalty early in the second half brought Bottesford back into contention, the visitors held on for three vital points.

Cleethorpes returned to the summit as Luke Mascall's 68th minute goal proved to be the winner in their 2-1 victory at Eccleshill United and they are a point ahead of Brighouse having played one game more and three points ahead of Aquaforce who have two matches in hand.

Shirebrook Town are up into fourth after goals in the first eight minutes from Jason Bradley and Aaron Moxam gave them a 2-0 home win over Selby Town but they may now be too far away to challenge for a top two finish.

Kingsley Wetherald's brace earned Pontefract Collieries a 2-1 home win over Clipstone who fall to seventh after their defeat with Worsbrough Bridge Athletic leapfrogging them into sixth following their 4-1 defeat of visitors Grimsby Borough.

Louth Town won the battle of the basement sides as they defeated visitors Appleby Frodingham, 2-0, with first half goals from Carl Martin and Lee Croft.

It means they have a three point lead over the bottom side but Hallam's victory at home to Rossington Main makes it look unlikely that either side will escape out of the relegation zone.

Mark West, Rob Adgie and Joe Charkesworth scored for Hallam in their win after Main had taken the lead and they stay nine points clear of the trapdoor.

The biggest win of the day came for Hemsworth Miners Welfare with Carl Fothergill's hat-trick inspiring them to a 6-0 home victory against Yorkshire Amateur whilst Knaresborough Town were not far behind, beating Teversal, 4-0, at Manse Lane.

And, AFC Emley are up to eighth after their 2-0 victory at Dinnington Town.
