Sheffield Wednesday are to play a special game at Dinnington Town later this month.

The match takes place at Phoenix Park on Thursday the 26th of October with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Club secretary Chris Dearns said: "The game is to officially switch on the floodlights and celebrate promotion to the Northern Counties East Football League.

"This event means so much to the club and is also a big thank you to all the players, staff and supporters who have helped the us over the years.

"We would also like to thank Sheffield Wednesday's manager Paul Sturrock for agreeing to send a team to officially celebrate the switch on of the floodlights.

"We have quite a few things organised for the night including a local Sportsman/Manager to officially switch on the lights.

"We are hoping to get together for the first time in over 35 years the last successful Dinnington Football Team.

"We are to have a Raffle with many prizes, food and drinks will be available and an official programme will be on sale on the night.
