South Normanton Athletic have announced the appointment of a Commercial Manager and the clinching of a new kit sponsor.

Joining Lees Lane is Alan Cleaver who served as the Senior Recruitment Officer with Derby County.

He was, until recently, assistant manager of the reserve side of local rivals, Sutton Town, but left amicably to take on the post of Commercial Manager at South Normanton.

Alan, who is pleased to join the Shiners, said: "I have known Roger (Reek) for a long time now and he asked me to join the Club as Commercial Manager.

"I just want to get on with the challenge now and strengthen this forward looking football club."

Roger Reek for the Shiners said: "Alan has extensive experience in football as a manager, scout and commercially.

"I hope that he will use his experience to elevate the Shiners into higher football which everyone at the club deserves."

Meanwhile, South Normanton Athletic have announced that 2 Simons Building Services of Coxmoor Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, are their new kit sponsors.

An official presentation took place at The Marriott Renaissance Hotel with Simon Jones from the company and the managers, players and officials of South Normanton.

In addition, Simon gave other financial support to the Shiners who are enjoying their best season in recent years.

He said: "It is a pleasure to be invited to sponsor a team like the Shiners who are currently doing well."
