Marshall Is New Clipstone Chairman
2nd February, 2013
Brett Marshall, who guided Retford United to the Baris NCEL Premier Division title last season, has become the chairman of Division One side, Clipstone Welfare.
He had more recently been in charge at Evo-Stik League side Hucknall Town and Dave Paling, who was also with him at Watnall Road, has become the Cobras' Vice Chairman.
Speaking on the club's website, Marshall said: "After ten years in football management, I have decided to take on a new challenge.
"My desire to go back into management is not there at this time but I knew, if something off the field came up and it ticked all the boxes along with being a different type of challenge, then it would be worth consideration.
"The main reason that I have joined Clipstone is that I have friends at the club, playing and coaching too. Manager Lee Tryner is a very good manager and a good friend also.
"Speaking to him as I do, his ambition for the football club mirrors my ambition for the last decade to progress but to do things the correct way by getting players to come to the club for the right reasons and get players to play for him.
"Off the field, the football club has a strong hard-working committee but were looking for new blood to kick the club on now they are in the NCEL."
Les Graham has become Matchday Secretary for the club's first team whilst Neil Hardwick has taken on the role of Secretary.
