Cockerill and Saxby Take Charge at Teversal
17th December, 2013
Teversal have announced a new management team following Paul Jenkinson's resignation on Friday.
Jenkinson took charge for the Toolstation NCEL Division One side's record away 11-3 win at Louth Town in October but the travel from his Yorkshire home, along with work and family commitments, was simply deemed too much for this volunteer post.
The club would like to thank Paul for his efforts with his credentials certainly of a level that are a benefit to any club and they understand and support him in his decision and do appreciate him trying the post despite the obvious obstacle of travel.
Moving forward, Teversal have moved swiftly to appoint Paul's assistants - Dave Cockerill and Lewis Saxby - as joint managers with Dave continuing to play, taking on the title of joint player/manager.
The management duo have been given the task of aiming to get the club into a position to gain qualification into next season's FA Cup and finish as high as possible, ideally beating last season's record-breaking season points tally at this level, whilst also bringing a period of stability.
The pair made the perfect start when they took official charge with the 5-0 win over Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday.
In fact, due to Paul's unavailability, they took charge for the midweek 4-3 win over Dronfield Town and will be hoping to continue the success when they hit the road this weekend when they travel for a very tough game at Eccleshill United.
