Reid is New Selby Boss
1st January, 2014
Selby Town have moved quickly to install a new manager before Saturday's home Toolstation NCEL Division One game against Clipstone with the appointment of Jimmy Reid.
He replaces Ian Dring and Chris Glarvey who left the club earlier this week.
A statement from the Robins said: "Reid, arguably Pickering Town's most successful manager, has taken the role at least until the end of the season.
"He will bring along Dean McAully and Steve Brown and says that there is plenty of points to play for and the club is still in the League Cup so the season is far from over.
"The aim is to finish at least in the top four and he is confident he can do it with one or two additions to a very good squad of players already at the club.
"Selby Town have been overwhelmed by the amount of applicants they have received for the position and they will remain confidential but it just highlights once again the high esteem people have for Selby Town Football Club.
"We hope all applicants understand if they do not get a reply but we had to act quickly in order that we can field a team this weekend."
