AFC Emley have made more than a dozen new signings but these stars of the future will not be lacing their boots as all are Sports Journalism students at the University of Huddersfield.
The young reporters will be applying what they learn through their studies at The Welfare Ground - writing match reports and other articles for the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.
The club hopes this informal partnership with grow and flourish over the coming seasons.
Martin Cooper, Sports Journalism degree leader at the University of Huddersfield, said: "This is a great opportunity for our students who are able to practice their journalism skills on matchdays."
Terry Higgins, AFC Emley chairman, said: "We've been putting an emphasis of player development on the field, now we're starting to apply those principles off the field too.
"It's a win-win situation. We get the extra help we need to promote the club and keep fans informed, while the students get invaluable experience as they hone their skills.
"We welcome all volunteers - students or not - who can feel they have a skill or interest that contributes to the success and sustainability of the club."
The first student report under the new venture was from AFC Emley's 3-2 comeback over league leaders Shaw Lane Aquaforce, written by first year Richard Waterhouse.
