Sellars Leaves Hallam
5th March, 2014
Toolstation NCEL Division One side Hallam have announced that they have parted company with manager Chris Sellars.
The news came after the Sandygate outfit were beaten last night at home by Louth Town who moved off the bottom of the table with their victory.
Chairman Chris Taylor said: "No one is more upset than I at having to take this decision as I have supported Chris in his time as manager and hoped that we had turned a corner.
"This result and the players' body language rang alarm bells and if we are going to make changes now is the time to do it with a third of the season still to come.
"We have no immediate plans to appoint Chris's successor and I would like to thank him on behalf of Hallam for his undoubted commitment to the club and more importantly to his players.
"He has been key in our youth development programme and I hope he remains in charge of his U-18 squad at least until the end of the current season."
Assistant manager Wayne Thompson will take charge of the team at least for the next two games whilst the club's committee consider their options.
