Players In And Out At Carlton

21st June, 2006

Carlton Town Head Coach Tommy Brookbanks has been busy strengthening his squad for his assault on the Premiership.

He has confirmed that he has completed the signing of highly Phil Massingham who is joining from local rivals Gedling Town.

David Wardle has returned to the club to compete with Steve Brearley for the goal keepers jersey. Wardle had spent most of last season with South Normanton.

Brookbanks has confirmed to the Carlton Town website that he believes he is only one signing away from securing what he believes will be a very competitive Premiership squad.

Meanwhile, prolific striker Phil Bignall has left the club to join Eastwood Town.

Brookbanks said: "I've never been one to try and stand in the way of a player making a step up and wish Phil all the best as he tries his luck at Uni-Bond level.

"We appreciate all the goals he has scored for us over the last three or four years and he has helped us to win two championships during that time."
