Ambitious Mickleover Sports' long search for a significant main sponsor is over with the arrival of estate agent Mike Brain as the club's new chairman.

Brain is managing director of rapidly-expanding estate agency group Hannell's, who have joined the dominant players on the Derby property scene in the last two years.

While Hannell's will be backing the Northern Counties East League Premier Division side, Sports also expect to be announcing other new sponsors soon.

Brain has been quick to point out that his role at the club will not be merely to sign cheques.

"It will be as much about getting things done," said Brain.

"This is a good club which has perhaps gone a bit stale in the last few years but there is great potential here.

"I've looked at where they are and what they are about and I think this is something I enoy. I'm encouraged to have been been welcomed with open arms."
