'Mr Arnold Town' Dies

Arnold Town is mourning the death of club official Ivan Long after a short illness.
The dedicated club man had spent over 50 years in different roles.
Known as 'Mr Arnold Town' around the Gedling Road ground, he was an honorary life member of the club and was also awarded a long-service medal from the Northern Counties East League.
Club officials paid their last respects with a one-minute silence before a committee meeting earlier this week.
The club plans a permanent memorial to Mr Long at their new Eagle Valley ground.
Meanwhile, the official Arnold Town website says: "The funeral for Ivan Long will be at Bramcote Crematorium at 3.40pm on Friday August 25th 2006.
"Floral tributes and/or donations (Special Trustees Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust) should be sent to Arnold & District Funeral Service, 36 High Street, Arnold, Nottingham. NG5 7DZ."
