Sheffield boss Dave McCarthy has been speaking of his delight at signing striker David Wilkins.

He captured the frontman from Premier Division rivals Arnold Town earlier this week for a small undisclosed fee.

And, Wilkins goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's league match at home to Brodsworth Welfare.

McCarthy told the club's official website: "I wanted to sign David at the beginning of the season but was unable to bring him in at that time.

"I am extremely grateful for Arnold Town in allowing the transfer to go through so smoothly and I'm sure Wilkins will be a big hit with our supporters.

"I thought there was a need to bring in another striker and Wilkins will compete with the talented forwards already at Sheffield for a place in the side, which can only be good for the club."
