Arnold Town chairman Roy Francis has assured supporters that the club will be able to move into its new Eagle Valley home before the start of next season.

Speaking to "The All New Arnold Who" website, he said: "We receive many questions from our supporters concerning the move especially as there does not appear to be any movement as to regard the start of work on the site.

"The up to date situation is:

"Barraclough, English and Wright from Sheffield have been appointed as the site consultants and are already in discussions with the firms appointed to undertake the earth movements and the building work.

"Kam Ltd will continue to act as the consultants concerning funds.

"The tender for the Building work which includes the stadium, car park and buildings has been agreed.

"The tender for the ground works has been accepted and the work will be undertaken by a firm Whitehorse Contractors from Thirsk in North Yorkshire.

"The cost of the scheme will be ?1.8m, but savings already achieved will ensure the cost of the scheme will be within the ?1.6m necessary to fall within the estimated costs of the Football Foundation.

"The buildings will be complete within 24 weeks and provided the grass is seeded before the end of March next year we will play our first fixture in August.

"We are again on target and the first game will be played in August.

"The Club has applied for promotion and if we achieve the results between now and next April we have the opportunity to be playing at a higher level."
