Sedge Boss Quits

20th December, 2006

Liversedge manager Eugene Lacy has resigned.

The Clayborn boss tendered his resignation talks with club chairman Bob Gawthorpe on Wednesday and follows a string of indifferent results that have seen the club slide down to mid-table in the NCEL Premier Division.

The club would like to put on record their thanks for all his efforts in recent seasons which have led to a notable FA Cup run to the Final Qualifying Round in 2004-5 and the winning of the NCE League Cup at the end of last season.

The Academy management team of Mark Brier and Simon Wood will take temporary charge of first-team affairs until a permanent appointment is made and the club will obviously be advertising what is an attractive management position.

Anyone interested in taking the position at a progressive and not unsuccessful club is asked to contact Club Secretary Mick Balmforth by either telephone, fax or e-mail on 01274 862123 or email andrewmbalmforth@yahoo.co.uk.
