Sedge Name Their New Boss

12th January, 2007

Liversedge FC have today announced their new manager.

The Clayborn outfit have secured the services of the highly respected ex-Emley, Altrincham, Ossett Albion and Ashton Utd Manager, Gerry Quinn.

A good track record and matching ambition saw Quinn appointed above a fine list of applicants for the Sedge job.

His first game in charge will be next Saturday?s game at home to Glapwell.

Sedge Chairman Bob Gawthorpe said: "We were all very impressed with the candidates and any one of the twelve applicants could have done us proud.

"As a result, I'm delighted to announce that we have Gerry as our new Manager.

"I've known Gerry for several years and he's a tremendous manager, with a reputation for getting clubs promoted and winning trophies.

"He knows this level of football inside out and also has the respect and contacts in the game to take our club where we want to go.

"He'll be in place for next week's match and we all wish him well. Exciting times for the club!"

Gerry Quinn has had much success in non-league football.

He is probably best known for taking Emley to the FA Cup First Round Proper, in front of the cameras against Bolton Wanderers and also to Wembley in the FA Vase.
