Staveley Miners Welfare have confirmed that ?2,050 was raised at Saturday's Toolstation NCEL Premier Division game with Worksop Parramore.
The match, which included former Sheffield Wednesday and England midfielder Carlton Palmer in the home side's line-up, was used as a fundraiser for CavCancerCare.
A club spokesperson said: "The total was catapulted from the ?1,050 raised by us by an additional amount of ?1,000 confirmed to us by the Chesterfield FC chairman and Napoleons owner Dave Allen whose help and assistance towards us is hugely appreciated.
"A truly fantastic gesture and we wish Dave and Chesterfield FC all the best for 2014 and sincerely hope they achieve their goal of promotion this season.
