Dinnington Resign from NCEL
27th April, 2014
The Management Board of the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League has sadly accepted a resignation notice from member club Dinnington Town.
In this resignation, Dinnington Town agreed to finish the playing season which they duly have done.
As a result of this, Dinnington Town will be placed in the bottom position of Division One for relegation purposes as defined in the Regulations for the Operation of the National League System rule 5.4 (i) although the club has indicated that they will cease to operate as a club upon completion of this season's fixtures.
This, therefore, means that Appleby Frodingham and Louth Town will move up one position for relegation purposes to 21st and 20th respectively.
There will be no further comment from the Toolstation Northern Counties East League on this matter until such time as The Football Association Leagues Committee have agreed a provisional League constitution for season 2014/15.
Phoenix Park Vandalised Again
20th April, 2014
Dinnington Town manager Steve Toyne returned to Phoenix Park on Saturday after a narrow defeat against Louth Town to find the ground had been vandalised again.
Both nets have been slashed and removed, recently purchased bins had been set on fire and junior size goals that had been stored behind the stands have been smashed into tiny pieces and shards of the plastic pushed into the pitch all over the goal mouth.
Further more seating in the stands have again been smashed, this time beyond repair, and it is now a race against time to ensure they can stage the final game of the season against Knaresborough Town this coming Saturday. The League have been informed of the situation.
Toyne said: "I really don't know how much more the club or I can take.
"We work so hard to provide a club with no sponsors or any backing and we keep getting knock backs like this. It's now getting to a point where we say that's it, no more.
"People give so much but we are getting nothing in return. We need help now and we need it fast.''
South Yorkshire Police have been informed of the incident and a spokesperson said: "We have a few ideas who is behind this and, through further investigations, we hope to be knocking on a few doors in the near future.
"The Ground is now going to be subject to regular patrols and anyone caught will be dealt with. We empathise with the club and will do all we can on this matter."
Further information regarding Dinnington's upcoming game on Saturday will be announced in due course.

Blades to Visit Phoenix Park
30th September, 2013
Dinnington Town have announced that Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United will be sending a team to Phoenix Park next week.
The game was originally a pre-season friendly but commitments by both sides meant the game had to be put on hold.
A statement from the club, announcing the game, said: "As it turns out, the game now comes at a time when Town need your support and extra revenue from a bumper crowd.
"As things stand, Town are struggling financially both on and off the field - with lower attendances and lack of any major sponsorship this season is a real struggle.
"With other clubs being able to attract players by the offer of good money, this is not an option at Dinnington Town so we have to rely on the loyalty and commitment of our squad.
"So, please come out and give us your support on the night and help keep this club going, or if any companies wish to sponsor the club or the match please do not hesitate to contact us. The club needs you."
The game will be played on Tuesday 8th October, ko 7:45pm.
Meanwhile, Dinnington's trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup will take place on the following evening, Wednesday 9th October, ko 7:45pm.
