Rangers keeper takes on Great North Run

30th August, 2021

Hall Road Rangers goalkeeper Jody Barford will once again be raising money for charity by running the Great North Run when it returns next month.

The veteran shot-stopper, who has turned 40 this season, will take part in the race - that is also celebrating its fortieth anniversary - on Sunday 12th September, 2021.

He has been a regular participant in the event that was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Jody is raising money for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young and is once more running in memory of his late mum, Linda.

Every week in the UK, at least twelve apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY, you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions - see how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk.
