Toolstation NCEL match review 2014/15 #28
13th November, 2014
Tadcaster Albion made a major statement of intent in midweek as a 10-0 victory at Armthorpe Welfare moved them nine points clear at the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
There were hat-tricks for both Carl Stewart and Jonathan Greening whilst Josh Barrett netted twice and Vincent Dhesi and David Brown also got on the scoresheet as they completely overwhelmed their hosts to add to Saturday's 7-0 win at Liversedge.
Albion Sports moved up to seventh with a 2-1 home win over Athersley Recreation whilst Parkgate came from behind to defeat visitors Pickering Town by the same scoreline to climb into fifteenth.
Ryan Cooper had put the Pikes ahead on three minutes but Daniel Abdulla struck each side of the interval to make sure the home side got all three points.
Hallam moved off the bottom of Division One, leapfrogging Grimsby Borough who they beat 7-2 at Sandygate with Jack Hargreaves claiming two goals whilst Daniel Flynn and Nicky Owen completed the scoring in the last half-hour of the encounter.
There were away victories for Yorkshire Amateur who won 4-2 at Dronfield Town and for Bottesford Town who, courtesy of a double from Martin Pembleton, won 3-1 at Eccleshill United.
And, Liam Wilkin also scored twice for Selby Town in their 3-1 home victory over Louth Town.
Handsworth Parramore claimed the final berth in the League Cup Third Round as they won 5-2 at Nostell Miners Welfare whilst there were County Cup triumphs for Heanor Town and Bridlington Town.
A Sam Jones penalty and a Kieran Debrouwer strike helped Heanor to twice come from behind at home to Borrowash Victoria to force extra-time and then penalties which the Lions won 3-1 to progress in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
And, Bridlington Town were 3-1 winners at Pocklington Town in the East Riding Senior Cup.
But, there was Notts Senior Cup misery for both Teversal and AFC Mansfield as they bowed out 3-2 at home to Ruddington Village and 1-0 at home to Selston, respectively.
