Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2014/15 #48
5th February, 2015
Garforth Town have made it through to the Final of the West Riding County Cup after winning 2-0 at Vanarama Conference North side Harrogate Town in midweek.
The victory came courtesy of second half goals from Mark Simpson and Tawanda Rupere in one of only three games involving Toolstation NCEL sides to beat the bad weather.
And, it could be an all-NCEL Final with Tadcaster Albion hoping to follow Garforth's lead in their Semi-Final against Bradford Park Avenue next week.
Shaw Lane Aquaforce are up into third in the Premier Division after Andrew Fox's seventh minute strike saw them win 1-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare.
They are now ten points behind leaders Tadcaster but have four games in hand.
And, AFC Mansfield are now fourth in Division One following their dramatic 3-2 victory at local rivals Shirebrook Town.
Tommy Hannigan had given them a twelfth minute lead before Keiron Watson and Liam Morris put Shirebrook ahead and then Craig Mitchell scored in first-half stoppage time to make it level at the break.
A crowd of 348, the highest in Division One so far this season, then had to wait until three minutes from time for a decider and it came from Glyn Cotton for the Bulls.
It means the chase for promotion is tighter than ever with just three points now separating the division's top six sides.
