Yorkshire Amateur kept their winning run going on Saturday as they maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier Division on a Saturday that saw a full programme of Toolstation NCEL matches with plenty of goals.

The Ammers picked up their eighth successive victory as they beat third-placed Knaresborough Town 2-1, Brice Tiani's double sealing the points even though William Lenehan's 55th minute strike brought the hosts back into the game and made it a tight affair.

That result means the gap between Amateur and Knaresborough now stands at twelve points but the chasing pack all have games in hand on the leaders as the title race begins to take shape.

Penistone Church strengthened their hold on second spot with a 5-0 win at Hall Road Rangers who remain sixteenth, Thomas Cadzow, Sam Scrivens, Nathan Keightley and Conor Glavin all netting for the visitors along with an own goal from Jack Tanser.

Bridlington Town notched up the division's biggest victory of the season so far to stay fourth as they thrashed visitors Liversedge 10-0, a Joe McFadyen hat-trick added to by one each for Nathan Modest, Andrew Norfolk, Christopher Jenkinson, Fraser Papprill, Chris Adams, Daniel Norton and Benjamin Clappison.

Sedge, who found themselves 5-0 down by the interval, drop into the bottom three and are four points clear of the relegation zone.

A 3-2 victory for Hemsworth Miners Welfare at Worksop Town sees them climb up into the top five, Seon Ripley's 74th-minute strike giving them what proved an unassailable lead although Kyle Jordan brought the Tigers back to within a goal of their visitors in stoppage time.

Worksop fall to eighth behind Maltby Main who stay sixth after a 0-0 draw at home to Barton Town, and Bottesford Town who went goal crazy at the expense of visitors Handsworth Parramore.

Lewis Bemrose scored three whilst there were two each for Dayle Hutson and Jack McMenemy in a remarkable game that saw the Amber Parras take a 2-0 lead in the opening ten minutes.

Another hat-trick hero, Jake Thompson, helped Eccleshill United to a 5-0 home victory over Goole AFC and the Eaglers are now ninth, going above Barton who remain tenth and complete the top half of the table.

Goole, meanwhile, have dropped to the foot of the standings as Harrogate Railway Athletic crawled out of the basement on goal difference with a 2-2 draw at home with Garforth Town.

The Rail were twice behind through Joseph Colley and a Simon Swales own goal but Adam Turner and Fraser Lancaster both struck equalisers to get them only their third point at Station View this season.

Thackley picked up their eighth draw in their fourteen league games so far as they led at home to Staveley Miners Welfare with goals from Jordan Hines and Jordan Hendrie but Joe Pugh struck twice for the away side, the second in stoppage time, for a 2-2 draw.

The point was enough to move Thackley out of the bottom three whilst Staveley keep themselves in twelfth spot.

And, Albion Sports and Athersley Recreation swapped positions as the Lions won 1-0 at home with Ombeni Ruhanduka's late first-half strike enough to send Sports up one place to thirteenth.

There was no doubt what the match of the day was in Division One as leaders Winterton Rangers travelled to second-placed Campion with only goal difference separating the sides.

Unsurprisingly, it was a close encounter and ended goalless, keeping the top of the table as it was but the gap between the pair and their closest rivals is now down to two points after home wins for Grimsby Borough, Nostell Miners Welfare and Selby Town.

Borough went behind to Zak Khalifa's 31st minute goal for Parkgate but Jack Debnam levelled with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining and then a Matthew Crookes own goal gave them the points late on with a 2-1 victory.

Rhys Meynell, Lee Bennett, Adam Hayton and Billy Mole scored one each for Nostell in a 4-1 triumph over Armthorpe Welfare whilst it was a 3-0 victory for Selby against Glasshoughton Welfare, Liam Flanagan, Alasan Ann and Joseph Dale netting for the Robins.

Sixth-placed Worsbrough Bridge Athletic lost a little ground as they were edged out 4-3 at AFC Emley, Andrew Horbury's second goal of the afternoon for the Pewits proving to be the winner in the 83rd minute.

Hallam drew the biggest crowd of the afternoon in the division and the second biggest in the NCEL behind Worksop Town's match as 351 saw the Countrymen beat visitors Ollerton Town, 2-0, Benjamin Thornton and Mitch Husbands with the goals to keep them seventh.

Dronfield Town, meanwhile, move up to eighth after Mark Fereday's hat-trick helped them to a 4-1 win over Shirebrook Town at Langwith Road.

The four bottom sides faced fellow strugglers as the battle for much-needed points hots up in their attempts to avoid relegation.

FC Bolsover stay rooted at the bottom as they lost 2-1 at East Yorkshire Carnegie who climb out of the drop zone thanks to a Thomas Whiting brace.

That means Bolsover are now thirteen points away from safety and they are joined in the bottom two by Harworth Colliery who also went down 2-1 on their travels.

Daniel Stevens claimed an 84th minute winner for their hosts Skegness Town who stay seventeenth but will be delighted to have picked up three massive points against their rivals for survival.

And, in the day's other Division One clash, Tim Whittaker's opener followed by a double from Lee Holmes saw Rossington Main race into a commanding lead at Swallownest by the 32nd minute before taking home the points with a 3-1 victory.
