A 3-1 win at Campion in midweek has extended Penistone Church's lead at the top of the NCEL Premier Division to six points.

Ryan Johnson and Nathan Keightley gave the visitors the perfect start, both pouncing in the opening six minutes to put Church 2-0 up within the blink of an eye.

Nicky Boshell halved the deficit on the quarter-of-an-hour mark and then, remarkably, there was only one more goal as Keightley added his second from the spot in the middle of the second period to ensure victory for Penistone.

Wins for Silsden AFC and Hallam have kept them third and fourth, respectively, with Cody Cromack grabbing a last gasp decider for the former in a 3-2 success at Frickley Athletic.

Silsden took the points having overcome seeing a two-goal lead slip after strikes from Kayle Price and Casey Stewart were cancelled out by Charlie Clegg and then a Harry Coates own goal.

Hallam, meanwhile, defeated visitors Rossington Main 4-1, an own goal putting them in front with Paul Sherburn getting a quick reply for the away side.

Then, a Rio Allan penalty and second half strikes from Leon Howarth and Brodie Litchfield sealed the points for the Countrymen.

Albion Sports and Parkgate were both victorious to climb above Rossington into the top seven.

Ellis Wade and Nathan Cartman were the scorers in Sports' 2-0 win at Winterton Rangers whilst a Ross Duggan double helped the Steelmen to beat hosts Tadcaster Albion 3-2.

Jamie Austin had netted the opener for Parkgate whilst Conor Qualter and Benjamin Tweed got on the scoresheet for the Brewers.

Beverley Town climb out of the bottom two after their 4-1 victory at basement side Goole AFC with Winterton replacing them in the drop zone.

The hosting Vikings went in front through Harry Spooner but Alexander Knaggs' leveller was added to in the first half by Edward Birch and Cameron Connelly before Glen Sani completed the scoring in the 78th minute.

Elsewhere, a last minute penalty from Adam Priestley rescued a point for Knaresborough Town in a 1-1 home draw with Barton Town after the Swans had taken the lead through a spot-kick of their own that was converted by Thomas Waudby.

And, Mohammed Farhan Subhani's 73rd minute winner secured three points for Eccleshill United as they won 2-1 at Handsworth after Laurence Sorhaindo's opener for the Eagles had been matched for the home side by Sam Fewkes.

Horbury Town, Dearne & District and Wombwell Town all keep a stranglehold on the top three in Division One as they were all victorious in midweek.

Horbury stay at the summit as goals in the last quarter-of-an-hour from Jock Curran, Samuel Kyeremeh and Jack Leach claimed a 3-1 victory over visitors Armthorpe Welfare after Ryan Ellison had given the away side a first half injury time lead.

Shay Evans-Booth's late double grabbed Dearne a 3-2 win at bottom side Yorkshire Amateur after Jamie Knox's first half goal was sandwiched by two for the hosts from Birama Diallo.

Dearne remain a point behind Horbury and a point ahead of Wombwell who, thanks to a Rikki Paylor brace and one each for Gavin Allott, Jordan Kershaw and Edward Agnew, won 5-1 at home to fellow top five side Maltby Main.

Athersley Recreation leapfrog Main into fourth after Nathan Perks and Alfie Bakes were the scorers in their 2-1 win at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

And, Selby Town defeated hosts Swallownest 3-1 with goals in the last ten minutes from Thomas Parkinson and Troy Greening ensuring the points after the two sides had both struck home first half penalties.

In County Cup action, Nostell Miners Welfare progressed with a 4-2 victory over Hall Green United in the First Round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup.

Thomas Street, Gracjan Klimczak, Jack Maeer and Jack Gascoigne were their scorers whilst Worsbrough Bridge Athletic bowed out of the competition with a 3-0 loss at Worksop Town.

And, in the opening round of the West Riding County Cup, Slater Barnes and Callum Petch scored in the opening minutes but Golcar United were ultimately beaten 3-2 by visitors Bradford (Park Avenue).
