Handsworth have claimed the final spot in the last eight of this season's JCP Construction NCEL Cup in memory of James Hitchcock following their 4-1 home win over Harrogate Railway Athletic in midweek. The Ambers raced into a three goal lead by the interval with Brandon Bagley, Jordan Hines and Fernando Tavares finding the net in their Third Round tie before Harry Jessop added their fourth midway through the second period.
Harris Eggleston pulled one back for the visiting Rail but Handsworth go through to the Quarter-Finals, joining Campion, Eccleshill United, Frickley Athletic, Horbury Town, Liversedge, Rossington Main and Route One Rovers.
In the Macron NCEL Premier Division, a last gasp goal from Desmond Okoro secured
Tadcaster Albion a point that has moved them up into fourth in the table as the Brewers drew 1-1 at
Golcar United.
George Doyle had given the home side the lead in first half stoppage time that was held until the 89th minute where the spoils were shared and Golcar move to four points clear of the relegation zone.
Bottesford Town are up to thirteenth after their 1-0 victory at
Eccleshill United, Luke Ayris with their match-winner in the 62nd minute, as the Poachers climb further away from danger.
Horbury Town also picked up a vital victory to put daylight between themselves and the bottom two as they won 3-1 at home to
Knaresborough Town, Carlos Rodriguez's double added to their opener from Samuel Awty after Daniel Thirkell had put the visitors ahead in the first half.
But,
Rossington Main were beaten by the same scoreline to stay just above the dreaded dotted line on goal difference as Joel Shepard, Ali Aydemir and Harry Fenton netted for sixth-placed
Barton Town with George Noble getting a late consolation for the hosts.
In Division One, Matthew Steeper, Jordan Welch and Alfie Fudge were the scorers for
Crowle Colts as they won 3-1 at home to
Louth Town to climb up to seventh whilst Louth, whose goal came from Harley Thompson, stay thirteenth.
A double from Philip Oguejiofor along with one each from Basile Zottos and Adam Watson saw
Maltby Main prevail 4-2 over visitors
Appleby Frodingham whose goals came from Joshua Fraiwald.
And, like Maltby,
Club Thorne Colliery closed the gap to the play-off zone to four points as they won 1-0 at
Nostell Miners Welfare, Alexander Peterson's first-half strike condemning their hosts to a defeat that keeps them in the relegation places.
Meanwhile,
Route One Rovers caused an upset in the Second Round of the West Riding County Cup as Zak Khan struck six minutes from time in a 1-0 home win over last season's Premier Division champions Silsden AFC but
Selby Town bowed out as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Bradford (Park Avenue).
