New Boss At Lees Lane

15th June, 2006

South Normanton Athletic have announced their new management team after the departure of Chris Nicholson in the close season.

Chairman Colin Price has revealed that former Long Eaton boss Glynn Stacy has been appointed with Mark Harvey (ex-Sandiacre Town) as his assistant.

Price added: "The club are delighted to have secured what we believe is a major name in local football.

"His record as a player is second to none as a prolific centre forward and he has been in charge of Long Eaton's two successive promotions when he was manager there.

"We were very impressed by the applications we recieved, nine in all, some of which took even the committee by surprise.

"We shortlisted three, all of whom did very well in their interviews, but Stacy stood apart.

"He has a 'winners' attitude and that's what we are looking for having struggled for the past 3 years since Rob Atkin left Lees Lane.

"The whole club is buzzing at the moment," said Chairman Price, " now we have the academy side in place, further ground improvements being implemented as we speak, and a new manager with ambition, drive and enthusiasm."

Training starts on the 4th of July at Lees Lane. All past players are invited to attend, and anyone who feels they can play at this level are welcome to come and show the new manager what they can do.

Meanwhile, the club are on the lookout for a Commercial Manager with experience in that field.

Good Commission will be paid to the right applicant, and anyone interested should call Peter Kane on 07984 933960 to arrange an interview.
