New chairman at Bulls
2nd April, 2015
AFC Mansfield have announced that Andrew Saunders has become the Toolstation NCEL club's new chairman.
It's after Steve Hymas left the Bulls last week to return to the board at Sky Bet League Two side Mansfield Town and run the youth set-up at the One Call Stadium.
The club said in a statement: "The board of directors of AFC Mansfield would like to thank Steve Hymas for his commitment, hard work and support that has helped the club to grow and prosper over the last three years.
"Together with Steve, we have seen the club gain promotion to NCEL Division One, win four trophies and reach the final sixteen in the FA Vase.
"In this time, the club has also grown within the community to now encompass our under 21s and our children's teams."
Hymas added: "I would like to put on record my thanks to all those involved past and present who have worked hard for the club during my tenure. I wish AFC Mansfield all the best for the future."
His successor is Andrew Saunders who, along with Hymas and Darren Bland, set up the club three years ago after the trio stepped down as directors at Mansfield.
The Bulls said: "Andy is a well respected local businessman and has vowed to keep the club pushing forward in its pursuit of success."
