Marshall to step down as Cobras chairman
2nd April, 2015
Clipstone chairman Brett Marshall has revealed he will be leaving the role at the end of the season.
He made the announcement on Mansfield 103.2's Non-League Show on Wednesday night when he said he felt that he had achieved all that he had set out to do at the club when he joined in February 2013.
His aims were to stay at the football club for at least two years, to get the facilities back to one of the best in local football and to bring in a manager who could carry the club forward on the playing field.
Marshall said: "Clipstone are not run through just a one man backer, so nothing will change finance wise and the club will go from strength-to-strength."
During his reign as chairman, the Cobras have played in the FA Cup for the first time in 86 years and they are currently challenging for promotion from Toolstation NCEL Division One and are in the Notts Senior Cup Final.
A statement from the Worksop Van Hire Stadium outfit said: "Everyone at Clipstone Football Club would like to thank Brett for his hard work and wish him every success in his future endeavours."
