Trio take over at Park Road

22nd May, 2015

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic have announced that Mark Joyce, Nick Haywood and Phil Jacobs are their new management team.

The trio, who take over from Dave Mace who stepped down earlier this week, make the progression from the reserves and U19s set up following four years at the club that has seen the steady progression of the reserve team and the successful U19 Northern Alliance title winning season of 2012/13.

It is all part of massive change at Park Road which has also seen a change of chairman with Wayne Radford replacing Jonathan Cotterill-Bolsover.

Speaking about the management team, he said: "It was a no brainer to be honest after Dave Mace decided to resign.

"The trio have been at the club a number of years and are very well respected within the club and non-league football.

"Their enthusiasm knowledge and passion was evident and I could think of no one better to help take the club forward."

A statement from the new management team read: "We have worked together for a number of years now at various levels within the game and have developed an understanding and trust in each other's work.

"We are delighted to have been given this opportunity and we fully understand the responsibility that goes with the role to lead Worsbrough Bridge Athletic's first team, a club that has been active within the community for over ninety years.

"We will look to take the team forward with a commitment to hard work and endeavour and look to play the right way. The work will begin immediately in planning for pre-season and the new season ahead."

Meanwhile, talking about his own arrival at the club, Radford said: "I am thrilled and very excited to be joining the Briggers, a club with huge potential, great facilities and a long history, in particular the great people currently at the club whose enthusiasm and passion is clear to see and who will continue to push the club in the right direction.

"I have come to the club determined and make it a real success both on and off the pitch, something that is echoed by the current staff and the supporters."
