Wilson And Glave Quit Glapwell

13th April, 2006

Manager Lee Wilson and assistant Junior Glave have parted company with Glapwell Football Club.

The parting of the ways came after the Hall Corner outfit crashed 4-0 last Tuesday night to Eccleshill United, their third heavy defeat in a row and fifth on the bounce without finding the back of the net.

Wilson had been on the playing staff at Glapwell when then manager Andy Kirk left during the summer of 2004, and he took over the reins with Glave as his assistant. Glave had also been Kirk's number two for the two seasons before that - from the start of 2004-05.

Glapwell chairman Roger Caton said before the game with Sutton Town on Saturday that the pair had left the Club on good terms and he thanked them for all the good work they had done.

Mr Caton, with senior player Gary Castledine helping him, has taken over the running of first-team affairs for the remainder of the season.
