Duffield takes charge at Parramore
15th October, 2014
Handsworth Parramore have appointed Peter Duffield as manager of their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side.
The 45-year-old, who resigned from his post at Belper Town last month to bring to an end a hugely successful three year reign at the Evo-Stik League side, replaces Russell Eagle who was relieved of his duties before Saturday's 4-0 win at home to Garforth Town.
Middlesbrough born Duffield started his professional career at Sheffield United in 1987 and went on to play for a number of professional clubs in a 17-year career.
Duffield then joined Retford United as a player in 2006 and took over as manager a year later, enjoying four successful years at Cannon Park.
He won the NCEL Premier Division and President's Cup as a player and then the UniBond League Division One (South) twice, the UniBond Chairman's Cup and the Notts Senior Cup as a manager.
Joining Duffield at the club is Micky Godber, a former Handsworth player, who was his assistant at Belper.
Ambers joint chairman Pete Whitehead said: "Pete and Micky's track record speaks for itself. I welcome them both to our club and look forward to working with them."
They will meet the players for the first time at training on Thursday and their first game in charge will be at Armthorpe Welfare on Saturday.
