Badgers continue to rebuild
7th February, 2015
Retford United have announced that caretaker boss Rich Williams will stay in the role until the end of the season as the Badgers continue to rebuild the club's first-team set up.
A new interim committee has also been established by the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side as they look to move forward following the resignation of the previous committee last month.
A statement on Retford's website said: "We would like to thank the fans for their patience over the last three weeks while we have been working behind the scenes to put things in place to see the club through the final three months of the season. Your continued support is very important to us as we try to guide the club through this difficult period.
"A new interim committee has been appointed with club chairman Bill Wyles having asked Brian Jackson to serve as vice chair along with Ian Beech and Robin Robinson from the supporters club.
"Rich Williams will remain as secretary but will not hold a vote on the new committee at this time due to his involvement with the management of the first team.
"The supporters club will continue to look after hospitality and the general running of home matches, Bill Wyles will continue to operate the clubhouse.
"In further news, Bill Wyles has today contacted all those who have applied for the manager's job at the club and informed them that the committee have decided against appointing a new manager at this time.
"Rich Williams has been asked to continue in his role as interim manager until the end of the season whilst the new committee decide on the future of the club.
"Rich will retain Ben Muirhead as assistant manager and U21s manager Chris Woodhead will also serve as first team coach."
