Armthorpe mourn death of Les Sharp
29th March, 2015
Armthorpe Welfare have announced the sad news that long-serving committee member Les Sharp passed away this week after a long battle with illness.
A minute's silence was held before their home Toolstation NCEL Premier Division game against Maltby Main yesterday and his funeral will take place on Wednesday 8th April.
An emotional statement from the club read: "Les was a long-serving committee man who was a well respected and very dedicated member of our committee who gave countless hours of his time to help with the running of the club and rarely missed a game, home or away.
"A club like Armthorpe is a small and very close-knit group where members have been friends away from the club even before any involvement in football, so this loss has been felt on a very personal level for many.
"At times like this we're reminded of the important things in life and our thoughts here at Armthorpe Welfare are with Les' family during this difficult time.
"Les was well known throughout the village, not just the football club, and he will be hugely missed by all. Rest in peace Les."
All at the NCEL send our deepest condolences to Armthorpe Welfare and to Les' family and friends.
