Vics Add Spencer To Squad

23rd January, 2008

Borrowash Victoria have persuaded attacker Rob Spencer to move to them from local rivals Mickleover Sports.

Delighted boss Mark Wilson said: "Rob is quick and gives us another dimension either up front or out wide.

"I have been after him for a while as our squad has shown and proven to me that we need a shake up.

"He is our fifth signing and it shows I will not tolerate from my players what I have been seeing.

"Some of them had their chance and blew it!"

Vics Influx Of Players Continues

18th January, 2008

Borrowash Victoria have further strengthened their squad with signing of two players from UniBond side, Shepshed Dynamo.

Tommy Leighton and Andrew Mottershead will both go into the squad for tomorrow's game against Scarborough Athletic alongside their other newcomer this week, Anthony Tansley.

"It is great news for the club," said manager Mark Wilson.

"Tommy has now the chance to settle at a club and show what a quality player I know he is.

"The lads are buzzing to see him back and I know the Vics faithful will be happy.

"Andrew is big and powerful lad and will be a handful for the opposition.

"He is in a situation were he can play first team football and make a name for himself as a forward."

Meanwhile, the club have announced that the outcome of tomorrow's 8.30am pitch inspection will be placed as a message on their answerphone after nine o'clock.

The number for fans to phone to find out if the match is on is 01332 669688.

Vics Welcome Back Tansley

15th January, 2008

Borrowash Victoria have announced the return of midfielder Anthony Tansley from a spell in Scotland.

Tansley, who has been plying his trade north of the border with Elgin City, is the second ex-Vics player to come back to the Robinson Construction Bowl after Matt Hill re-signed for the club earlier this month.

Manager Mark Wilson said: "Anthony was living in Scotland and got in touch when he returned to England.

"He's the first player I have had to get international clearance for!

"He brings energy and quality to our midfield and, in the next couple of weeks, more faces will be coming in.

"The form of late has simply not been good enough so we need to freshen up.

"However, we can't open the purse strings so I will have to weal and deal."

Hill Returns To Vics

4th January, 2008

Borrowash Victoria manager Mark Wilson has added to his squad with the capture of Matt Hill from Shepshed Dynamo.

And the Vics boss is delighted to have Hill back at the Robinson Construction Bowl, saying: "There is no doubt we have missed Matt's energy and work ethic this season.

"It was a blow to lose him at the end of last season but he is back now and I am delighted.

"He needs a few games to get sharp but there is no doubt in my mind he will improve the team.

"Another signing is close but I will comment when pen is put to paper."

Meanwhile, Karl Yeoman has left Borrowash to return to his old club Mickleover Sports with centre-back Jack Coulson moving in the opposite direction.

Said Wilson: "Karl only managed eleven games all season and did not really have the impact I would have liked.

"We wish Karl all the best for the future."

Borrowash Triple Capture Bolsters Squad

23rd November, 2007

NCEL Division One Borrowash Victoria have brought in three new faces as they look to kick-start their season.

Michael Harcourt has come to the Robinson Construction Bowl from UniBond League side Belper Town.

"I am looking forward to playing and getting games under my belt and help Vics climb the league," said the 18-year-old on the club's website.

Harcourt can operate anywhere down the right and also in the centre of midfield.

Manager Mark Wilson has also confirmed the signings of goalkeeper Alex Goddard from Eastwood Town and midfielder Sean Gummer who is also from Belper Town.

All three will go straight into Borrowash's squad for Saturday's trip to Barton Town Old Boys.

It is a timely boost for Borrowash who are currently third from bottom in Division One.

Meanwhile, Danny Roberts has left the club in pursuit of first team football at Heanor Town.

Said Wilson: "Danny has been frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities as the squad is bigger than last season and he has not hit the heights of last season's form.

"Also, changing the formation has not helped him.

"Some fight for a place and some up sticks and go. Danny would like to drop a level in order to play and I wish him all the best for the future."
