The Football Association have confirmed which clubs will go up from Step 5 to Step 4 for next season and, as expected, there will be no promotion from the Baris NCEL.Premier Division champions Retford United were told by the FA this week that they could not go up due to "several outstanding issues" with regards to the club,
(see here).
Nationally, ten of the twelve promotion spots up for grabs have gone to champions of other leagues.
That leaves two spaces for runners-up to fill, with three leagues' second-placed teams - including Bridlington Town of the Baris NCEL - eligible for promotion.
Those places go to the two sides out of the three with the best average points per game ratio and, unfortunately, Bridlington's is the worst of the trio so they miss out on going up.
Meanwhile, Durham City and Woodley Sports will be relegated from Evo-Stik League Division One North whilst Quorn and Shepshed Albion will be demoted from the southern division and it is yet to be confirmed which Step 5 leagues they will go into.
The FA's Leagues Committee meets next Friday, 25th May, to determine the shape of Steps 5/6 and below.
