4th March, 2010
Bridlington Town have extended their lead at the top of the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division to nine points with a 4-1 at home to sixth-placed Selby Town.
The Seasiders also broke through the 100 goals scored barrier with Craig Hogg's second of the evening on 28 minutes after he'd first cancelled out an early opener from Selby's Steve Lyon.
Bridlington then had to wait until the last two minutes to stretch their lead further, Nathan Hotte and Neil Towler with the goals.
Second-placed Rainworth Miners Welfare were in Notts Senior Cup action where they bowed out at the Quarter Final stage with a 4-2 defeat at home to Dunkirk despite late strikes from Ant Lynam and Matt Draper.
That gave Armthorpe Welfare a chance to move to within a point of the Wrens which they did with a 5-0 win over visitors Brodsworth Welfare.
The away side, who are adrift at the bottom of the table, were reduced to ten men in the eighth minute and also found themselves behind to a Liam Hardy penalty.
Craig Fletcher and David Buck made it a three-goal cushion for Armthorpe by the interval whilst James Walker's strike and Liam Hardy's second completed the scoring in the last ten minutes.
The four sides above Brodsworth at the wrong end of the table all had bad midweeks with defeats at home.
Lincoln Moorlands Railway's 1-0 defeat at home to Winterton Rangers, courtesy of an 81st minute Danny Frost penalty, means they stay six points adrift of eighteenth-placed Shirebrook Town who were beaten 4-2 by Parkgate.
The hosts were winning at half-time thanks to a Peter Stubley brace after Parkgate had taken the lead through William Senior.
But, Senior levelled soon after the interval before Ryan Johnson and Andrew Gascoigne gave the visitors an unassailable lead by the hour mark.
Despite a late goal from Graham Marchant, Nostell Miners Welfare lost 2-1 to Hall Road Rangers with Adam Walker and Paul Palmer netting for the away side.
And, Maltby Main were beaten 3-2 by Dinnington Town, Danny Lindley with what proved to be the winner on 69 minutes.
A tenth successive win has seen leaders Brighouse Town move four points clear at the top of Division One.
They were 4-0 winners at Bottesford Town, Daniel Davidson with a double whilst Luke Sherman and Matthew Sparkes also netted for the visitors.
Second placed Leeds Carnegie dropped points in their match on Monday in a 2-2 draw at home to Yorkshire Amateur.
Chibuzor Chilaka struck twice for them after Kyle Collins had given the away side an early lead but Dempsey Smith made sure the game ended level with a goal in injury time for the Ammers.
Tadcaster Albion's surge up the table has continued with a 2-1 win at Teversal putting them in third place.
Darren Brandon's 81st minute penalty grabbed them the points just seconds after Oliver Gage had levelled for the hosts.
A Christopher Coy double helped Staveley Miners Welfare to a precious 3-0 victory at Appleby Frodingham that moves up to fourth and keeps their promotion hopes alive.
They go above AFC Emley who were beaten 3-1 at home by Pontefract Collieries.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare were the midweek's biggest winners as they were 7-0 winners over visitors Grimsby Borough.
Damion Liddle was their hat-trick hero whilst Andy Haywood found the net twice and Lee Dawson and Sean Oldfield also got on the scoresheet to keep them in sixth place.
Barton Town Old Boys were 2-1 winners at home to bottom side Eccleshill United, Bill Law with both of their goals whilst Worsbrough Bridge Athletic and Askern Villa picked up a point each in a 1-1 draw at Park Road.
