Baris NCEL Review - Season 2011/12 #15
13th November, 2011
For the second Saturday in a row, Bridlington Town had to come from two goals down to make sure they remained top of the Baris NCEL Premier Division.
The Seasiders needed a brace in the final eighteen minutes from Craig Hogg to pick up a point at Thackley after Andy Philp and Dean Walters had struck for the home side in the opening half-hour.
They stay ahead on goal difference of Retford United who were denied victory by an injury-time equaliser from Joe Naylor after Carl Haslam had given them the lead against Scarborough Athletic in a top four clash at Cannon Park.
Third-placed Tadcaster Albion moved to within a point of the top two as Carl Stewart's 73rd minute strike earned them a 1-0 win at home to Brighouse Town.
Staveley Miners Welfare and Parkgate are fifth and sixth, respectively, after slim victories, Staveley winning 1-0 at Long Eaton United, courtesy of a Ryan Damms goal on 73 minutes, whilst a Nathan Swindells double helped Parkgate to a 3-2 home victory over Winterton Rangers.
Maltby Main remain the division's basement side after falling to a 3-2 defeat at Barton Town Old Boys whilst Selby Town dropped back into the bottom two with a 4-0 loss at Liversedge.
Pickering Town go above the Robins after they thumped visitors Lincoln Moorlands Railway, 5-0.
Stuart King's own goal and Joel Ramm's 28th minute strike had them two-up by the interval and Jonathan Brown, Stuart Rice and Chaz Wrigley made sure of the victory in the second period.
James McGarry netted twice to help Hall Road Rangers to a 3-1 win at Nostell Miners Welfare whilst Armthorpe Welfare were 2-0 victors at home to Arnold Town.
Only three points separate the top five sides in Division One with Worksop Parramore remaining at the front of the pack after Andrew Wood's goal edged them a 1-0 win at Shirebrook Town.
Glasshoughton Welfare move up to second, a point behind the leaders, after their 2-1 win at Grimsby Borough whilst Pontefract Collieries climb into third after Liam Ormsby, Paul Haigh and Steve Lyon helped them to a 3-1 home victory over AFC Emley.
Albion Sports, who did not have a game, drop to fourth ahead of Handsworth who went down to an 81st minute goal from Mike Armstrong in their 1-0 loss at home to Louth Town.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic posted the biggest victory of the day as Adam Podmore struck a hat-trick in their 7-1 home win against Yorkshire Amateur.
Another three goal hero was Mark Vickerage who took home the match ball as Askern Villa defeat visitors Dinnington Town, 4-0.
Bottom side Appleby Frodingham picked up a last-gasp 2-2 draw at Rossington Main thanks to Chris McDonald's injury-time equaliser but they now find themselves nine points adrift of Askern.
And, there were home wins for Eccleshill United and Hemsworth Miners Welfare who beat Hallam, 3-1, and Bottesford Town, 4-1, respectively.
