4th December, 2011
Staveley Miners Welfare remain the sole Baris NCEL representative in the FA Vase after the Third Round matches were played on Saturday.
Ryan Damms and Aymen Tahar scored in the first half at North West Counties League's Squires Gate and repeated the feat after the interval in a 4-0 victory for the Inkersall Road side.
Mark Vickerage and Tom McLaughlin found the net for Askern Villa but they fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to West Auckland Town.
And, the other three of our sides in Vase action were all beaten on their travels.
Bridlington Town went down 5-1 at defending champions Whitley Bay with Craig Hogg scoring the Seasiders' consolation early in the second period, Armthorpe Welfare were beaten 2-0 at Peterborough Northern Star and Parkgate lost 3-1 at Dunston UTS.
In the Premier Division, Scarborough Athletic came from 3-0 down to snatch a point to keep themselves at the top of the table.
Nathan Cartman and Jamie Wasley scored for visitors Liversedge in the first half and, when Alex Hallam got their third with twenty minutes remaining, it looked as though it was game over.
But, Patrick Miller and Matt Draper started the comeback with Ryan Blott netting the equaliser as the game went into stoppage time.
The Seadogs are above Retford United on goal difference after the Badgers climbed up into second with a 2-1 win at Arnold Town.
Adam Scott put Retford ahead on eleven minutes and Carl Haslam doubled their advantage just after the interval before the Eagles got themselves back into the game with a Liam Garner strike.
Jamie Hopcutt's 18th minute goal was enough for Tadcaster Albion for a 1-0 victory at Selby Town, a win that moves the Brewers above Bridlington into third.
Fifth-placed Thackley continued their good form although they almost let the win slip when they were pegged back from a 3-1 half-time lead.
Lee Beesley and Sean Cann brought visitors Lincoln Moorlands Railway back level and it took until injury time for the hosts to grab the three points, courtesy of an Andy Philp goal.
Second half strikes from Gavin Cooper and Jack Cross earned Winterton Rangers a 2-0 home victory over Pickering Town to move them up into the top six.
Long Eaton United were 1-0 winners at Maltby Main whilst Barton Town Old Boys were also victorious on their travels, 3-0 at Hall Road Rangers.
Three of the four sides who led Division One on 39 points at the start of play won their matches.
Worksop Parramore stay top on goal difference after a 5-3 home win over Eccleshill United with Tom Nolan grabbing a brace.
Second-placed Albion Sports beat hosts Hallam 6-4 whilst Pontefract Collieries won 5-0 at bottom side Appleby Frodingham.
But, Handsworth slipped to three points behind in fourth as an Andrew Hayward double saw them lose 2-1 at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Glasshoughton Welfare won 5-0 at home to Bottesford Town to move to within one point of Handsworth in fifth with games in hand on all the sides above them.
Justin Bowler snatched a point for Yorkshire Amateur with an equaliser at Louth Town in stoppage time for a 2-2 draw.
And, there were away victories for Rossington Main, Shirebrook Town and Teversal.
Rossington prevailed 4-1 at AFC Emley, Shirebrook were 2-1 winners over Dinnington Town and an 85th minute strike from Teversal saw them come from 2-0 down to beat Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, 3-2.
