Baris NCEL Review - Season 2011/12 #24
15th December, 2011
Barton Town Old Boys made it six wins in a row in the Baris NCEL Premier Division after their midweek 1-0 victory at Selby Town.
Ashley Dexter struck the only goal of the game in difficult weather conditions after 21 minutes to move his side up into ninth spot.
Selby, meanwhile, remain bottom of the table.
Tadcaster Albion made it through to Semi-Finals of the President's Cup with a last-gasp 4-3 home win over Staveley Miners Welfare.
Joe Thornton had put the visitors ahead on eleven minutes but Daniel Gray quickly levelled and then gave the Brewers the lead after 27 minutes before Thornton struck again to make it 2-2 at the interval.
Robert Pell restored Tadcaster's advantage soon after the break but Jordan Eagers equalised almost immediately.
It stayed at 3-3 until the 89th minute when Carl Stewart struck the dramatic winner for the hosts who now go to Barton in the final four.
There was disappointment for two of our sides in County Cup action.
Albion Sports did very well to take Ossett Albion to penalty kicks in the West Riding County Cup but it was the Evo-Stik League side who would prevail, 3-2 in the shoot-out.
And, Long Eaton United went down 2-0 at Buxton in the Derbyshire Senior Cup.
