19th November, 2015
A hat-trick from Andy Norfolk helped Bridlington Town to a 4-2 home victory over Maltby Main in midweek to move up to ninth spot in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
Paul Wray also got on to the scoresheet for the Seasiders whilst Danny Swales and Joshua Hemmingway found the net for the visitors who stay sixteenth.
The other top flight game saw Athersley Recreation pick up three vital points in a 5-0 win over visitors Garforth Town, Martin Scully with a brace along with goals from Adam Podmore, Jack Owen and Ryan Smith to secure the victory that sees them climb to seventeenth.
In Division One, next-to-bottom Grimsby Borough raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from James Coulson at home to Rossington Main but Shaun Pendleton and Lee Holmes scored in the second period to ensure the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw.
The Premier Division matches Albion Sports versus Retford United and Pontefract Collieries versus Handsworth Parramore were called off due to waterlogged pitches as was the Division One game between Selby Town and Yorkshire Amateur.
Winterton Rangers are through to the Semi-Finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy after a 3-1 win at Lincoln Moorlands Railway, Robbie Start, Gary Nimmo and James Gemmell with their goals before there was a late consolation for the hosts from Callum Dye.
But, Pickering Town bowed out 4-1 at Northern League side Marske United in the First Round of the North Riding Senior Cup and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic were beaten 3-1 at home by last season's NCEL Premier Division champions Shaw Lane Aquaforce in the Third Round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup.
