Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #37
13th December, 2015
Only four Toolstation NCEL matches on Saturday survived heavy overnight rain with three of the games ending in 2-2 draws.
Both FA Vase ties involving our sides - Handsworth Parramore at home to Cleethorpes Town and Tadcaster Albion's trip to Sunderland RCA - were postponed and will now be played on Tuesday whilst all-but-one Premier Division clash fell victim to waterlogged pitches.
Tim Taylor rescued a point for Bridlington Town with five minutes remaining after Ben Cohen had given visitors Thackley a 2-1 lead towards the end of the opening period.
Andy Norfolk had earlier netted for the home side whilst Ryan Farrell also got on the scoresheet for the visitors in the first half.
Four goals were also shared in two of the three Division One games with Westella VIP coming from behind twice to take a point at Grimsby Borough, Garry Flounders and Alex Wood scoring after Jamie Coulson and Daniel Stevens had given the home side the lead with all the goals coming in the final half-hour.
It also finished 2-2 between Hull United and Teversal at the KC Lightstream Stadium.
In the day's other game, Shirebrook Town were 6-3 home victors over Rossington Main.
Adam Shepherd put them ahead on 34 minutes but that was quickly cancelled out by Shaun Pendleton before Matt Ellis gave the away side a 2-1 lead early in the second period.
The match continued to ebb and flow with Matty Ord getting an equaliser for Shirebrook on 54, Matthew Bradley restored Main's lead a minute later only for an instant leveller from Liam Osborne and Jake Currie making it 4-3 for Shirebrook on the hour mark.
Liam Greenfield and Antony Rowley then made sure the three points belonged to the home side with strikes in the last twenty minutes.
