Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2015/16 #43
14th January, 2016
Honours were even in the clash of two of the top five sides in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as Cleethorpes Town and Handsworth Parramore played out a 1-1 draw at the Bradley Football Development Centre in midweek.
Parramore, who would have gone top with a victory, took the lead on 32 minutes through Kieran Wells but Luke Mascall's equaliser midway through the second period made sure the points were shared and Handsworth and Cleethorpes remain fourth and fifth, respectively.
Parkgate climbed out of the bottom two as Jordan Turner's brace helped them to a 3-2 victory at Garforth Town, Oliver Yates netting their third whilst Curtly Martin-Wyatt and Jordan Outerbridge scored for the home side.
And, Pickering Town are tenth after their 5-2 home win over Nostell Miners Welfare, Joe Danby with two of their goals.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare are the Division One leaders once again after their 5-2 defeat of visitors Winterton Rangers.
Dominic Blair, Robert Crapper and Nash Connolly put them in control by half-time before a Bill Law double in the second period ensured the win whilst Rhys Vazquez and Josh Batty got on the scoresheet for their next-to-bottom opponents.
Gary Collier netted twice in Knaresborough Town's 4-0 win at home to basement side Lincoln Moorlands Railway and Rossington Main, through early goals from Jordan Hatton and Callum Wiffen, earned three vital points in a 2-1 victory at fellow strugglers Worsbrough Bridge Athletic to move further away from the relegation zone.
In the Notts Senior Cup, there were two goals each for Jamie Yorke and Liam Theakstone in Rainworth Miners Welfare's 6-0 home win against Central Midlands League side Sherwood Colliery.
And, it finished 1-1 in a friendly between Glasshoughton Welfare and Barton Town Old Boys with Alex Sherwood scoring a late equaliser for the Swans after the home side had taken a 40th minute lead.
