Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2016/17 #20

13th October, 2016

Liversedge were unable to go four points clear at the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division as Bridlington Town beat them 2-1 to continue their winning start under new boss Curtis Woodhouse in midweek.

Jamie Forrester and Joel Sutton took the points for the Seasiders with two late strikes after a Chris Jenkinson own goal had given Sedge a 75th minute lead.

Bridlington climb to seventh following their victory which was in front of the highest attendance of the NCEL season so far with 605 people watching the game at the Clayborn Ground.

Albion Sports are up to fourth after their 4-2 win at Pickering Town, an own goal and their fourth from Rhys Jenkinson confirming the victory in the last ten minutes.

The two other Premier Division games ended as 2-2 draws with Lynton Karkach and Jason White's penalty in the last five minutes snatching a point for AFC Mansfield at neighbours Rainworth Miners Welfare after Tomas Poole and Aaron Moxam had seemingly put the Wrens in control.

And, James Done's second of the night rescued a draw in stoppage time for Retford United at home to Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Penistone Church remain the Division One leaders after Daniel Joynes' hat-trick, following an opener from Brett Lovell, saw them triumph 4-1 at Ollerton Town.

They are a point ahead of Winterton Rangers who move up to second after Matthew Crane also took home the matchball in a 3-2 home victory over the team who occupied that spot at the start of play, Pontefract Collieries.

Scott Jones' injury-time strike earned Selby Town a 1-0 win over visitors Dronfield Town to move them up to sixth whilst Hall Road Rangers are now tenth after Joshua Batty's equaliser secured them a 1-1 draw at next-to-bottom Shirebrook Town.

Westella & Willerby's sudden improvement in form continued as they climb to eighteenth with their third straight victory, 2-1 at home to Teversal, as they came from behind with goals from Danny Holiday and Lewis Andrew.

And, Yorkshire Amateur were 3-2 home victors over Nostell Miners Welfare who remain at the foot of the table.
