Hallam host first ever Non League Day game
8th October, 2015
Non League Day, the annual national celebration of grass roots football, is coming to Hallam's Sandygate ground for the first time on Saturday.
On international weekend, with no Premiership or Championship games, local non-league clubs take centre stage.
After five consecutive years of away matches on Non-League Day, Hallam finally get the chance to celebrate the day as Hemsworth Miners Welfare visit for a 3pm kick-off.
The match will be free entry for season ticket holders from all other clubs, and there will be plenty of fun for all the family, including a crossbar challenge at half time for the chance to win a copy of Football Manager, plus other competition prizes.
The Toolstation NCEL Division One club will also be supporting Non-League Day's partner charity Prostate Cancer UK.
Hallam's Pete Wilding said: "We're looking forward to a great game at Sandygate as second take on third in the table.
"We want to make non-league football accessible to all and what better way than by letting current season ticket holders from any club around the country in completely free."
Crosspool Junior U8s team will be the club's guests for the game and their manager, Chris Pryor, said: "The team are delighted to be have been invited to the Hallam FC for Non-League Day.
"Our players range from six to eight years old and are at the beginning of a long relationship with football and this experience will fuel their passion for the game.
"There is great excitement amongst the players about being mascots and walking out on to the pitch with the players in front of what we hope will be a big crowd at the Oldest Football Ground in the World."
Entry is free to season ticket holders from any club (on production of 2015-16 season ticket), ?5 for adults and ?2 for concessions (under-16s, over-65s, students on production of ID).
