Ricardo takes charge at Rangers
20th May, 2016
Hall Road Rangers have moved swiftly to replace outgoing manager Martin Thacker with ex-Selby Town boss and Rangers player David Ricardo.
Thacker departed the top job at Rangers last week after it was mutually agreed that he would not be able to commit full time to the role next season due to his family commitments.
Rangers have wished him all the best and thanked Thacker for his hard work and efforts over the past two years.
After an exhausting amount of applicants, chairman Darren Sunley and the Rangers committee have agreed that Ricardo, who has been without a club since he left Selby in February, is the best suited man for the role.
Sunley was happy with his choice, saying: "We have had some excellent candidates apply for the position of first team manager. It was really good to see the interest from everyone.
"This is the next step forward for the club and, with the help of Thacker in the background, I am pleased to announce that the next manager will be David Ricardo who will also be bringing Bill Gill with him.
"I see a very good relationship with them and they match the ethics of the club perfectly and, with some strict targets in place for the coming season, I believe they will attain where we want to be.
"I would like to say thank you to all of the people who applied, even the ones who are good at FIFA.
"Now it's down to some serious work and our plan to be where we should be."
Rangers will also have announcements coming shortly for new sponsors and new committee members joining to propel the club forward.
