New vice chairman at Rangers

24th May, 2016

Hall Road Rangers have announced that Steve Dixon will replace the outgoing Ricky Spencer as vice chairman of the club.

Spencer took on the role at the start of last season and has been instrumental in the club's movement and progression with developments at Haworth Park.

Chairman Darren Sunley said: "I am really pleased to have Steve on board from S&D Flooring.

"He has been working with the club for the last season and I am positive he will be a great asset to us as vice chairman through his commercial contacts and enthusiasm to push forward with myself.

"I would also like to thank Ricky Spencer for his assistance this season and he will continue to work with the club along with his team.

"Ricky was instrumental in getting the project moving at Haworth Park so thanks again for everything."

Dixon will be a valuable asset to the club travelling home and away with the first team on matchdays and supporting new manager David Ricardo in his role as first team boss.

"I'm excited at the prospect," said Dixon. "This is all new to me but, coming from a footballing background and having the contacts and know-how gained through my business S&D Flooring, I know we can push Hall Road on to bigger and better things and gain the former prestige the club's first team once had.

"Our junior section is thriving at the minute and we want to ensure that progression through to the first team."

Rangers' first pre-season friendlies are in the diary already with Barton Town Old Boys coming to Haworth Park on 9th July.
