Darker takes Main armband

7th June, 2016

Maltby Main have announced that Nicky Darker will be skipper at the club next season with Steve Hopewell named as vice captain.

Joint boss Spencer Fearn said: "Both players were exceptional for us last season, they have great leadership qualities and we are really pleased they are taking on these roles."

Darker has a wealth of experience in non-league and has played 120 games for Main whilst Hopewell, who joined Main last season, was pivotal in their upsurge in form during the second half of the campaign as they finished seventh in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

Main have also captured centre-half Reece Wesley, who was last season at Parkgate, on a one year deal with Fearn adding: "This is another great signing and we are delighted Reece has returned to Muglet Lane."

Wesley joins Darker, Hopewell, Danny Rusling, Lee Hill and Ryan Carroll who have all penned one year deals.
